This restaurant-style noodle recipe is more than just a meal – it's a culinary adventure that brings the excitement of Asian cuisine directly to your dining table. The key is in the technique and the perfect balance of flavors.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 1x

Ingredients

Scale

For the Noodles and Beef:

  • 8 ounces lo mein noodles or spaghetti
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 1 bell pepper, julienned
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

For the Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup beef broth

For Garnish:

  • Sesame seeds
  • Chopped green onions

Instructions

  1. Begin by cooking the noodles according to package instructions. Aim for al dente texture, then drain and set aside.
  2. Prepare the sauce by whisking together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sugar, sesame oil, and beef broth in a small bowl. Set this flavor-packed mixture aside.
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Carefully add the sliced beef and stir-fry quickly until it's just browned. Remove the beef and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of oil. Quickly stir-fry the bell pepper, carrot, broccoli, and minced garlic for 3-4 minutes. The vegetables should remain crisp and vibrant.
  5. Return the beef to the skillet and add the cooked noodles. Pour the prepared sauce over everything, tossing gently to ensure even coating.
  6. Cook for an additional 2 minutes, ensuring all ingredients are heated through and beautifully combined.
