Ingredients
Scale
For the Bread:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup hot fudge sauce
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan, or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set this dry mixture aside for later use.
- Using an electric mixer, cream together the softened butter and sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy. This process incorporates air and creates a smooth base.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated. Stir in the vanilla extract to enhance the bread's flavor profile.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the sour cream. Begin and end with the flour mixture, stirring just until combined to avoid overmixing.
- Gently fold in the hot fudge sauce and chocolate chips, creating a beautiful marbled effect throughout the batter.
- Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula to ensure even baking.
- Bake for 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean with just a few moist crumbs.
