Creamy Cheese Base:
- 16 ounces sour cream
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup chopped ham
- 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
- 1/4 cup pickled jalapeños, chopped (optional)
Flavor Boosters:
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon hot sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Serving Vessel:
- 1 round loaf of sourdough or French bread
Instructions
- Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). This sets the perfect temperature for baking your dip.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the sour cream and softened cream cheese. Mix thoroughly until smooth and well blended.
- Add the shredded cheddar cheese to the mixture. Stir to ensure even distribution of the cheese.
- Fold in the chopped ham, green onions, and jalapeños (if using). These ingredients add incredible depth and texture to the dip.
- Pour in the Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, and garlic powder. Mix well to incorporate all the flavors.
- Carefully cut a circle in the top of the bread loaf. Gently remove the inner bread, creating a bread bowl.
- Spoon the cheese mixture into the hollowed-out bread bowl. Ensure it's evenly distributed.
- Replace the top of the bread or wrap the entire loaf in foil to prevent burning.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the dip is hot and bubbling. The aroma will be absolutely irresistible.
