Ingredients
Scale
For the Hash Base:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 potatoes, peeled and diced
- 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Begin by heating a skillet over medium heat. Brown the ground beef with the chopped onion, cooking until the meat is no longer pink and the onion becomes translucent.
- Carefully drain any excess grease from the beef and onion mixture. This step ensures a less greasy final dish.
- Transfer the cooked beef and onion to the slow cooker, creating an even layer at the bottom of the pot.
- Add the diced potatoes, ensuring they're evenly distributed throughout the meat mixture.
- Pour in the cream of mushroom soup and beef broth. Sprinkle garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper over the top.
- Gently stir all ingredients to combine, making sure the potatoes and beef are well coated with the seasonings and liquid.
- Cover the slow cooker and set it to low. Allow the hash to cook for 6-7 hours, or until the potatoes are tender and easily pierced with a fork.
- In the final stage, sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the hash.
- Cover and let the cheese melt for an additional 10 minutes, creating a gooey, irresistible topping.
