For the Creamy Spinach Base:
- 1 package (10 oz) frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
- 1 container (16 oz) sour cream
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1 package Knorr Vegetable Recipe Mix
- 1 can (8 oz) water chestnuts, drained and chopped
- 3 green onions, chopped
- 1 round loaf Hawaiian bread, for serving
Instructions
- Begin by thawing the frozen spinach completely. Once thawed, use your hands or a clean kitchen towel to squeeze out every bit of excess moisture. This step is crucial for maintaining the perfect dip consistency.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the well-drained spinach, sour cream, mayonnaise, and Knorr Vegetable Recipe Mix. Whisk these ingredients together until they form a smooth, well-incorporated mixture.
- Carefully chop the water chestnuts into small, uniform pieces. Similarly, finely slice the green onions to ensure even distribution of flavors.
- Gently fold the chopped water chestnuts and green onions into the spinach mixture. Stir until all ingredients are evenly distributed throughout the dip.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or ideally overnight. This resting time allows the flavors to meld and intensify.
- When ready to serve, prepare the Hawaiian bread bowl. Carefully carve out the center of the bread, creating a beautiful serving vessel. Cut the removed bread into bite-sized pieces for dipping.
- Transfer the chilled spinach dip into the bread bowl. Arrange the bread pieces and additional dipping items around the bowl.
